How to invest in foreign currency?
I'm worried about the devaluation of the dollar. I saw that Buffett and Gates are withdrawing dollars and investment in euros and other foreign currency. They are going as far out full-page ads in newspapers to warn others, so I gather to be taken seriously. My bet is that the dollar will tank later this year or in the near future. Also, if I can open a Swiss bank account, so keeping my money euro? Basically, I'm looking to buy and maintain. Do not want to be a day trader of foreign exchange. An ideal investment for me would put my money in a currency foreign and then buy any stocks or mutual funds or indices or commodities or whatever. I just want my money to have some dollars to the fund when falls, ie the housing market decline, the war in Iran, countries in the reduction of reserves of $ holdings, the bankruptcy of GM, etc.
There are several ways you can invest in foreign currency: 1) You can buy Euros (The real Bills) in any bank, airport or exchange and store in a safe. This is not very wise, because you receive no interest. 2) You can open a free account at PayPal (an eBay company) in dollars and euros. This is not very wise, because you receive no interest. 3) You open a euro bank account in any European bank. When you need money just to transfer their money to a U.S. account. Once you have opened your account, you can transfer your money into euros at a bank in the world. Swiss bank accounts are multi-currency. This means that you can maintain a balance USD and EUR balance and a balance Yen and so on. By the way, the Swiss currency is the Euro is not French. I suggest you visit your bank UBS and Credit Suisse for more detailed information. http://apps.ubs.com/locationfinder/searchForm.do?GeoEntityId=3&GeoEntityType=3 http://www If .credit-suisse.com/where_to_find_us/en/office_locator.jsp want to invest, you can open a brokerage account and trade stocks as it does here in the U.S., but European stocks denominated in euros. The same goes for funds Mutual may also invest in gold if you're worried about the housing market crash, the war in Iran, countries in the reduction of reserves of $ holdings, the bankruptcy of GM, so I can help you with all your international financial needs.
